Written by the Apostle Peter to persecuted believers living as scattered exiles, 1 Peter offers encouragement to stand firm in the face of suffering and hostility. The letter grounds Christian identity in the "living hope" of the resurrection, calling believers to live holy, distinct lives of submission and good deeds even when mistreated.
